Australia could build a very positive working relationship with Indonesia's new president, but it will take some effort, Professor Tim Lindsey tells Sky News.

Professor Lindsey, Director of the Centre for Indonesian Law, Islam and Society at the University of Melbourne, says that Australia will have to put a lot of effort in to recreate the warmth that has existed, until recenty, between the two countries during Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's presidency. He says the Australian government should aim to mend relations as fully as possible before the new president, likely to be Jokowi, takes power in October.

Professor Lindsey was interviewed by Stan Grant on Sky News Australia.
