More than 20,000 students have trained at the college, many going on to become agriculturists, farmers and land managers, contributing to the development of Victoria, Australia and internationally.
Past students and staff will gather at Dookie on October 15 and 16 to celebrate during a weekend of reunion and reminiscence. Alumni are invited to bring photographs to add to Dookie's recorded history, and can take part in many family-friendly activities as well as a gala dinner.
Now a University of Melbourne campus, Dookie has become home to specialist agricultural teaching and research through the Melbourne School of Land and Environment. Teaching is incorporated with the commercial activities of the Dookie Farms and has strong links to industry.
Professor Rick Roush, Dean of the Melbourne School of Land and Environment said Dookie Campus has much to celebrate with a 125 year glorious past and a bright future, including plans for a world class centre of excellence for research and development into climate resilient farming and agricultural engineering in collaboration with the Melbourne School of Engineering and industry.
