“It is very exciting to have this unique interdisciplinary teaching program recognised in the Premier’s Awards,” said Dr Simon Batterbury, Director of the OEP, which is part of the Melbourne School of Land and Environment.

The Premier’s Sustainability Awards recognise innovation and outstanding achievement in the sustainable use of natural resources to benefit all Victorians.

The goal of the OEP is to equip graduates with skills and knowledge to address complex environmental problems, and to raise awareness of environmental and sustainability issues on the campus and beyond.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by Collingwood Football Club President Eddie McGuire at the six-star green rated Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 22 April.

The Awards’ sponsors are the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Publishers National Environment Bureau, Rheem, Edwards Solar Hot Water, Solahart, Sensis, TAFE Development Centre, La Trobe University and Yarra Valley Water.
