This year’s Open Day will be run in conjunction with the Wyndham City Council's annual Pet Fair, making it a great day for future students, families and the wider community. Wyndham Council will also provide discounted microchipping for dogs and cats.

Animal lovers can meet some furry visitors and talk to the veterinary exhibitors and community groups to find out more about their special interests.

Activities will include pet displays (including exotic pets like reptiles) and exhibition stalls from animal groups such as the Australian Alpaca Association, Avicultural Society of Australia, Greyhound Adoption Program, Guide Dogs Victoria, Veterinary Hospital nurses, Victoria Police Dog Squad, Victorian Ferret Society, Wildlife Victoria and the University of Melbourne Canine Blood Bank.

Veterinary Science students will be on hand to answer questions for prospective students and will host displays for student special interest groups for wildlife, sheep, cattle, horses, dogs and cats.

Course and career advice will be available throughout the day, giving prospective students and their parents the opportunity to learn about the various pathways to the University's new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine graduate program.
