The University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney have shared the honours at the Australian Boat Race following an Oxford v Cambridge style showdown this afternoon on the Yarra River.
With the 2011 Australian Boat Race just days away, some of the best rowers in the country will face off at an official pre-race weigh-in at the University of Melbourne on Friday.
The Melbourne – Sydney rivalry will take to the Yarra River on Sunday 30 October, when the cities’ leading universities go head to head in The Australian Boat Race.
The University of Melbourne will go head to head against Sydney University for the second straight year in an Oxford v Cambridge style rowing showdown, this time on Sydney Harbour.
The University of Sydney has challenged the University of Melbourne’s crown at this year’s Head of the Yarra in a university showdown at the nation’s rowing classic being held this year on Saturday 28 November.
