Mr Mani Shankar Aiyar is a former Indian Government Minister and in 2006 was conferred the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award by the President of India. He was visiting Melbourne to deliver a keynote lecture at the Australia India Institute's inaugural conference on 'The Reluctant Superpower: Understanding India and its Aspirations' from 22 to 23 September.
