University disappointed business and economics education merger will not proceed

The University of Melbourne has expressed disappointment the merger of the Faculty of Economics and Commerce and the Melbourne Business School (MBS) will not go ahead at this time.

The University of Melbourne and the Melbourne Business School Limited (MBS Ltd) have agreed upon a proposal to merge the Melbourne Business School and the Faculty of Economics and Commerce to create a new Faculty of Business and Economics at Melbourne.  The new Faculty will be operated by MBS Ltd.
