University of Melbourne researchers will investigate the impact of bushfires on community connections and people’s mental health after receiving more than $1.28 million in the latest round of Australian Research Council (ARC) funding.

Six outstanding students from the University of Melbourne have been awarded with international scholarships under the Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Endeavour Awards, the most of any Australian institution.

University of Melbourne researchers have been awarded the most ARC Discovery grants – and the highest funding - nationally for funding starting in 2010. The multi-year grants were announced yesterday by Minister for Innovation, Industry Science and Research, Senator the Hon Kim Carr.
